Netflix acquires worldwide rights for Nobody Speak: Hulk Hogan, Gawker and Trials of a Free Press
2 februari 2017
After the documentary Nobody Speak: Hulk Hogan, Gawker and Trials of a Free Press, directed by award-winning filmmaker Brian Knappenberger, premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival as part of the U.S. Documentary Competition, Submarine and Netflix closed the deal.
The film examines the recent court case where Hulk Hogan sued the website Gawker over the release of a sex tape. The documentary doesn’t only address the legal battle, but it also brings up questions about freedom of the press and freedom of speech faced by journalists during the Trump presidency.
This is the third acquisition Netflix closes on a Sundance documentary.
