Assistant to Producer

Submarine, an international award-winning production company renowned for its groundbreaking work in scripted series, features, documentaries, and animation productions, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated assistant to producer (Scripted) to join the company’s scripted department.  The assistant to the producer works closely with producers throughout the production process.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the producer to ensure seamless production coordination and management for scripted productions.
• Writing coverage on scripts, drafting letters, making phone calls, running an office, interviewing personnel, coordinating the fundraising process, assisting with duties on and off set, liaising between the producer and the post production team, and helping to prepare publicity materials. Arranging meetings, taking notes on meetings, prepare reports.
• Independently handle a diverse range of tasks, including fund applications, location research, (international) meeting and recce arrangements, flight and hotel bookings, basic contract drafting, and effective communication with cast and crew.
• Demonstrate proactive, positive, and professional communication skills while working both independently and as an integral part of a dynamic team.
• Exhibit exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility in working irregular hours, including participating in early evening calls with the US and occasionally working on weekends to meet production needs, particularly during recce periods.
• Maintain communication with production crew across departments.
• Identify an initial list of potential talent suited for film production.
• Excellent communication skills, to prepare reports, scripts, notes on meetings etc.
• Handle emails, phone calls and messages
• Maintain regular communication between the production and post-production teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Keep cool when working under pressure.
• Proactive and positive mindset.
• Taking initiative and problem-solving in order to keep the production running smoothly.
• Well organized, flexible, and have a good overview of the production process
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
• Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Dutch is desirable.
• Familiarity with industry-standard production software and tools.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, protocols, and union regulations.
