Main Purpose of the Role:
Submarine produces high-quality and innovative series and films for the international market. We
are looking for an experienced IT Support professional to join our team and ensure that our
hardware and software function optimally, supporting our artists and production staff effectively.
At Submarine, we conceive and produce animation, documentary, and live-action films and series,
as well as interactive productions. Our work spans notable broadcasters such as KRONCRV,
AVROTROS, ZDF, ARTE, and Channel 4, and streamers like Amazon Prime and Netflix. Our
upcoming project is a gripping live-action political thriller, combining a highly-charged thriller and
a heart-breaking love story, exploring the price we are willing to pay to keep the truth alive.
Submarine will be opening a new studio in Belgium to handle the post-production of this series.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide daily technical support to artists and production staff.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
• Support the use of software packages used within the studio.
• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, and network infrastructure.
• Manage user accounts and access rights.
• Install and update software applications used by the studio.
• Apply patches and updates to ensure system security and performance.
• Maintain hardware such as computers, tablets, graphic tablets, and peripherals.
• Coordinate repairs and replacements of faulty equipment.
• Support the setup and management of render farms and storage solutions.
• Assist in optimizing workflows to enhance production efficiency.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on new systems and software.
• Create and update technical documentation and manuals.
• Assist with IT-related aspects of ongoing and new projects.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve project goals.
Experience and Requirements:
• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with networking, server management, and virtualization software.
• Familiarity with animation and video production software such as Autodesk Maya, Adobe
Creative Suite, and Blender is a plus.
• Ability to identify and resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
• Proactive approach in preventing potential IT issues.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical users clearly.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a
dynamic work environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work outside office hours when needed, such as during system outages or
critical deadlines.
• Based in Amsterdam, working remote is not an option.
• Available to start ASAP.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for technical innovation and IT hardware and software.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly competitive business landscape.
• Calm, organized, and methodical approach to work, able to remain so under pressure and
tight deadlines.
• A clear understanding of current industry standards and practices is a plus, but not essential.
