DEVELOPMENT / PRODUCTION INTERN (SCRIPTED/LIVE-ACTION)

Submarine’s award-winning feature films and drama series have been sold around the world and we are currently developing an eclectic, thought-provoking, and entertaining slate of projects with exciting international talent.
Current projects include SAFE HARBOR, showrun by OZARK’s Mark Williams, and THE KOLLECTIVE by GOMORRAH’s Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli. Previous projects include two seasons of scripted animation series UNDONE for Amazon Prime Video, from BoJack Horseman showrunners Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob Waksberg and feature film APOLLO 10 ½ for Netflix, written and directed by Richard Linklater.

JOB DETAILS:
Key to creating captivating drama series for both the Dutch and International markets is a well-organised and efficient scripted drama team. The team is based out of Submarine’s Amsterdam HQ and London, they are constantly working on developing existing projects, sourcing new potential ideas for hit TV show or films, and preparing upcoming productions.
This internship will shed light on the process of creating scripted drama as part of an ambitious but compact creative unit. Depending on what’s on at the company, you can get insight on several phases of production: development, pre-production, production and post. You’ll do tasks in support of our Executive Producer and Development team; everything from assistance in meeting scheduling to helping to design pitch documents to reading and script coverage.
An ideal candidate is interested in both development for live-action series as well as physical production as this role is a hybrid for both (in case we are in production, especially). Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
Specific intern responsibilities include:
- Assisting across various aspects for the scripted team, including diary/calendar scheduling, meeting preparations, note-taking, etc.
- Reviewing submissions and samples of work that come to us from agencies/production companies/writers and writing coverage.
- Helping with pitch decks or treatments in terms of design and formatting.
- Conducting in-depth research for a potential series or feature project.
- Filing confidential documents, as well as offering any technical assistance, if needed.
- Aiding the smooth running of the Dutch scripted office and assisting the team, including ad hoc and routine or menial tasks or personal tasks.
